Soul 2 Sole Movement Studio was started by Dianne McMillan and Vilmos Danyi in 2011 due to a demand from the community to open a professional studio combing Dance and Aerobics (as Dianne did in 2000 before venturing overseas to take on a role with the Vietnam Gymnastic Federation)
Having been located in Howick for many years Soul 2 Sole has made the bold move to relocate to Waiuku to be close to home.
Soul 2 Sole provides each individual the opportunity to learn the art of Aerobic and Dance Movement in a positive, structured, and inspiring environment.
We are a passionate team of teachers dedicated to delivering the highest quality teaching. All staff have represented New Zealand in Aerobic Gymnastics and have won various International Medals. Professionalism is one of our key attributes we value as a studio. Your child will be treated equally and their development is our priority. Every opportunity to teach your child will be met with fun, passion and our commitment to help them to achieve their goals.
Inspire + build confidence in the youth of today. To provide a platform and space for students to express themselves to develop beyond their perceived limitations.
To contribute to the evolution and future of Aerobic Gymnastics and dance throughout NZ and Globally.
Dianne trained in RAD, ISTD ballet and NZAMD jazz from age 5. She began teaching and choreographing at 15. Dianne has danced in theatre performances including extras in the Royal NZ Ballet and Northern Ballet Company.
Dianne studied Sports Science and Coaching in 2000 then went on to study Sports Massage. She has taught at the FIG Aerobic Gymnastic Coaching Academies and was awarded her coaching Brevet for her expertise in the Sport. This is the highest qualification possible within Aerobic Gymnastics and she is the only coach in NZ along with her sister to be awarded this prestigious Brevet.
Dianne was her sister’s gym instructor for many years and was instrumental in her success winning the 2004 World Aerobic Championships. In 2009 Dianne was invited to be the National Coach for Vietnam so moved to Ho Chi Minh while still coaching NZ’s International Athletes from afar.
Dianne moved back to NZ in 2010 to begin her nursing career. However due to the overwhelming support and pressure to start a club back in East Auckland where she became an instructor in 2004 Dianne decided to set up Soul 2 Sole Movement Studio alongside her studies.
Vilmos Danyi - Vilmos (Vili) comes in from time to time between his studies and puts the athletes through some tough yet extremely fun conditioning. Vili was coached as an International athlete in Aerobic Gymnastics gaining various medals for his country. For the International athletes or those who want that extra "PUSH" then Vili is a master! You will thrive under his unique way of coaching. He gets in there and does it all too. A great role model and all-round passionate coach.
